Chris Cohen is a LA-based musician who, after a decade collaborating and performing with a variety of notable bands including Deerhoof, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, and Cass McCombs, has released his second solo album on Brooklyn's Captured Tracks label to critical acclaim. As If Apart is a collection of soft, unearthly psych pop, a bittersweet ensemble of dreamy, complex songs. Chris Cohen's idiosyncratic rhythmic style creates an expansive, moody psychedelia that is still melodic but in an unconventional and homegrown way—like the best of Robert Wyatt, Mayo Thompson, Syd Barrett, or Jerry Garcia.
