DAVID HORVITZ & XIU XIU presented an interactive sound installation that transformed Robert Irwin’s Central Garden into a site for sound-making. Visitors were invited to follow over 100 different instructional scores written by the artists. Armed with wooden sticks, they wandered the pathways striking the chimes accordingly.
A performance written for 15 chimes and one gong concluded the day in the Museum Entrance Hall featuring Miya Osaki, Ches Smith, Pete Swanson, Lukas Geronimas, Zanna Gilbert, and David’s grandmother Kiyoko Maruyama.
